Jan Goff LaFontaine is a graduate of the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, as well as the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the country, and published in several national magazines. She has had two photo documentary books published: the first is titled Reflections Between the Lines; and her current book, Women in Shadow and Light: Journeys from Abuse to Healing, is the winner of two prestigious national awards. Her work with this book led to the founding of the Wise Women’s Circles, where she creates healing portraits for survivors. She teaches photography nationally and from her home studio in California, and facilitates women’s creativity and healing retreats both nationally and internationally. Her work is dedicated to helping women discover themselves in a creative environment.
