DESCRIPTION:Suzanne PunchSeptember 16-19\, 2010 (9am-4pm) $455What uniquely happens on silk when liquid color is applied? When does the process require skill and when does it need me to wait and watch? We will work with this inquiry in this workshop. Various techniques (under-painting\, layering\, thickened dye\, spray finishing\, foiling) will create richness of color plus the textures of manipulated dye. We will work with traditional gutta resist lines\, as well as stippled gutta for unusual effects. Good composition is always a focus. DESCRIPTION:George StricklandJuly 19-23\, 2010 (9am-4pm) $595 Advanced Beginner to AdvancedPlein-Air painting can be one of the most exhilarating experiences artists have. But our enthusiasm often causes us to take in too much\, and then proceed to paint a disjointed collection of individual objects\, rather than an orchestrated piece of art. The class will address this\, along with some conceptual aspects of painting that can dramatically improve all levels of work. The class will be designed to make each day a stepping stone to the next. We will begin the week by painting fast and small\, and increase the finish and scale of work as the class progresses. The objective of this class is to help students take their work up a notch or two\, and put them on a path to finding their own voice. Much individual attention will be given\, with critiques and instruction geared to studentsÕ particular level. Be prepared for an intense\, yet fun week of painting outdoors.Supply List\n______________________________\nThis Event Downloaded From a Helios Calendar Powered Site

We will work with traditional gutta resist lines\, as well as stippled gutta for unusual effects. Good composition is always a focus. With a sense of play plus genuine encouragement\, each person is supported to find their own unique voice on silk.In general students should have prior silk painting experience\, however\, a limited number of students without much prior experience will be allowed to join the class.Estimated Materials Fee: $15Supply List\n______________________________\nThis Event Downloaded From a Helios Calendar Powered Site
